24th JAN - Ice Climbing Progression Sess
With IFMG Guide Karen we’re thrilled to bring this incredible ice-climbing adventure back, new, refreshed, and ready for action!<br>Whether you’re looking to solidify the essentials or push your skills further, this day is all about building confidence, efficiency, and enjoyment on the ice.<br><br>Spend the day with our expert guide, Karen, developing your technique in a supportive and encouraging environment. If natural ice conditions are good, we’ll head out onto single-pitch routes to rack up valuable mileage. If conditions are lean, no worries, we’ll make the most of a nearby ice park, giving you the chance to try a variety of routes and styles while diving into focused skills sessions and fun technical drills.<br><br>Who’s it for?<br>Perfect for climbers who’ve tried ice climbing before and are keen to progress, practise, and get more time swinging tools on single pitches.<br><br>Ratio: 1 guide to 4 clients<br>Date: 24th January<br>Time: 7:30am – 5pm (approx.)<br>Departure location: TBC<br>Kit required: Harness, helmet, crampons, technical ice axes, gloves, hat, sunglasses, belay jacket, belay device, B3 boots. A full kit list will be provided once you’re signed up.<br><br>
5th Feb - XC Classic - Beginners
10:00 - 12:00 hrs <br><br>Learning solid technique right from the start is a game-changer for your cross-country ski journey. It makes every glide more fun, every trail more satisfying, and gives you the confidence to enjoy the sport to the fullest. We'll get you moving smoothly on your skis, and by the end of the session you'll be controlling your speed and direction as you cruise around the tracks. Classic skiing is perfect for journeys, and can lead to point-to-point adventures in unforgettable winter terrain. <br><br>Previous experience Required: Zero, but you must be prepared to be active on skis for 2 hours. Note that falling is part of learning, and you will most likely sit down at some point! This session is perfect if you have done a few days self-taught and are ready for instruction!<br><br>Meeting Point: Maison Nordique, 51 Av. de la Plage, 74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. We meet inside the ticket office, upstairs. Classes will begin as soon as possible. Please be on time. If you need to purchase a ticket for the session, allocate enough time to do that before we meet.
22nd FEB - Time to Take the Lead in the Mountains - Mountain Skills
Deciding where to go skiing is often the hardest part! Join us to build your understanding of using the weather forecast and your knowledge of conditions and terrain to decide where to ski and find the best snow!<br>We’ll use a day on skis with our IMFGA female mountain guide Ulrika Asp to look at navigation, route decisions and safe travel techniques in avalanche terrain. The aim is to build your confidence enabling you to take the lead both up and downhill rather than just follow, find all the good snow and get the most out of your days in the mountains.<br><br>Date: 22th February <br>Time: 8.30am – 5ish pm<br>Ski Level: Comfortable on and off-piste with previous ski touring experience, not a high fitness level this day will be a short journeys with lots of workshops along the way.<br>Equipment: Ski touring set up, transceiver, shovel and probe, backpack, warm layers, picnic, water, thermos.
